Emotional & Social Support

Social, Emotional Learning and Support

Research shows that social and emotional factors are integral to academic learning and positive educational outcomes for children.  There is universal support for social and emotional learning at Glenbow School. Through our Safe and Caring program all students are taught skills related to self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.

Targeted, proactive support is provided for students who would benefit from structured, social, emotional or behavioral support.image

In addition to our Virtue Program and Leader in Me Program, The Lion’s Quest: Skills for Growing program is integrated into the Health program and across the curriculum and as a framework the step by step development of social and emotional skills.

Hands on active learning, such as role-plays and behavioral rehearsal  provide students with opportunities to develop and practice their social and emotional skills.
