Parent Update March 20 2020

Hello – Bonjour Glenbow Families,

We wanted to update you on how we will handle our pick up for next Monday (23) and Tuesday (24).

  1. We ask that anyone who is in self-isolation and/or has any symptoms of a cold or flu do NOT come to pick up the belongings. If you can’t come to the school, it is acceptable to have another adult/caregiver pick up your child’s belongings at your scheduled time.
  2. At your pre-booked time (using conference manager – link here), you will come to your child’s designated entrance door. The front doors of the school will be locked. A staff member will greet you at the door, allow you and your child into the boot room where you will collect your child’s shoes and their bagged belongings.
  3. Stipulations state we can only have one child and adult in at a time so you may have to wait a few minutes to get into the school. Once in, you will not be allowed to move throughout the school, classrooms will not be open, and teachers will not be available.
  4. If you have more than one child at Glenbow, you will need to go to each individual child’s designated entrance door.  Please see attached document with the locations.
  5. At each boot room door, there will be bins for you to return any classroom materials and library books.
  6. For those folks who ordered seeds in our most recent FOG fundraising initiative, seeds will be available as well with your belongings.
  7. It is advised to bring your own bag just in case there is too much to carry.
  8. Please limit conversations and remain two meters from any other individuals while at the school. Your family and our families’ safety are a priority so please adhere to these requests.
  9. Please note, if you are unable to pick up your child’s belongings on these days, we will safely store them at the school to be picked up at a later time.
  10. Lost and found will be in the courtyard at back of the school under the eave.

Other notes:

  1. Report cards will be sent home next Friday, March 27. These will be sent home by e-mail in PDF format.
  2. For those students with Student Support Plans, Term 2 updates will be sent home by e-mail this day, too.
  3. Details for the learning continuity plan for parents will be coming out next week. Here is a link for what RVS currently has on their website.

Once again, we reiterate how challenging this has been for all families in what are unprecedented times. Our staff here wants to let you know we so appreciate your support, and we are looking forward to working with all of you in the coming days/weeks.
