No School for students on Monday - Professional Learning Day

2B enjoying their learning in the great outdoors!!
LOST AND FOUND
Are you missing anything?  Cooler mornings and warmer afternoons makes our lost and found overflow.  Please help by making sure your child’s items are labelled with their name.
We CARE Assembly on Thursday - Wear Yellow/Gold!
We are excited to be hosting our first We CARE assembly on Thursday.  Kate Hilton from Kids Cancer Care will be here to receive our donation from the Share the Love campaign.  $8560 was raised!!!!   We will also be reviewing our school motto - We CARE (Celebrate, Accept, Respect, and Explore) by having classes share some of the ways they have demonstrated the way they CARE.
All students are encouraged to wear yellow/gold on Thursday!
Powerschool and myBlueprint Progress
Thanks to our staff, students and families for participating in the recent Student Led Conferences.  We hope you had a chance to celebrate the amazing learning that has occurred while also setting some goals for the remainder of this year.
Parents, please continue to check Powerschool and myBlueprint on a regular basis as staff frequently update both to share feedback on student learning.  If you have any trouble signing in to either program, don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the office for support.
Will you be moving out of the Glenbow School area next year??
If you are planning to move out of the Glenbow School area next year, please reach out to the office to let us know.  At this time of year, we begin looking ahead to our school structure and class configurations.  This is helpful information as it allows us to adjust our numbers when looking at forming our classes.
If you are moving, please give the office a call to let us know.
Mud Season Again!
As we head into spring, we anticipate some wet weather.  Along with this comes the mud...  If you are able to put some extra socks and pants in your child's backpack, that will help in case they get a little muddy or wet!
Green Shirt Day
On April 6, 2018, Canadians were heartbroken to hear the news of the Humboldt Broncos bus crash. Of the 29 passengers, sixteen lost their lives and thirteen will all bear physical and emotional scars for life.  On April 7, 2018, Humboldt Broncos defenceman Logan Boulet succumbed to his injuries. His parents, Bernadine and Toby Boulet offered to donate his organs so that six lives could live on. They did so because Logan told his parents he was registering as an organ donor and that he was inspired by his coach and mentor Ric Suggitt. Ric passed on June 27th, 2017 and was also an organ donor and saved 6 lives.  April 7th is a day to raise awareness about organ donation.
Some of our classes may be learning about the importance of our organs and organ donation.  If you would like to share some information with your children, be sure to check out https://greenshirtday.ca/ as they have great resources for educators and families.
As we will be wearing yellow/gold for our assembly on April 7th, students are encouraged to wear green on Friday, April 8th.
Caregiver Self Care Workshop
Thank you very much to our families who attended our Caregiver Self Care Workshop.  We learned many tricks to help reduce stress, fight burn out and how to co-regulate with our children when things get difficult.  Thanks to our School Council for organizing and hosting this event.  We look forward to hosting more parent sessions next year.  If you have any suggestions for topics, please don't hesitate to let the office or your School Council know.

Kindergarten Registration is Underway!

Kindergarten is an exciting milestone in the lives of children and their families. These early experiences set the foundation for lifelong learning and begin to build the skills children need to become confident, resilient and contributing members of the community.

Kindergarten eligibility established in the Education Act and subsequent Early Childhood Services Regulations requires students to turn five by December 31 of the school year they wish to begin Kindergarten. This means children born between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2017, can register for Kindergarten for the 2022/23 school year.

Before registering your child, please review the important documentation you'll need on hand.

Kindergarten registration for the 2022/23 school year is open.

Register Online

All registrations must be completed online.

New Families - To register a Kindergarten child who has never attended RVS, please create a new account via SchoolEngage at: https://rockyview.schoolengage.ca/

Please don't hesitate to reach out to the office if you have any questions.
