Fun Lunch on Monday is Jugo Juice
A huge thank you to all our families who participated in the Friends of Glenbow Candy Count.  Close to $1000 was raised.

Glenbow School would also like to thank the Friends of Glenbow Society for giving the school $6500 for the purchase of additional chromebooks!  Thank you FOG!!!
Do you have any old, clean T shirts that you would like to donate to Glenbow?  Our Ecoschools Ecosquad is looking for T shirts to make reusable bags.  If you would like to donate one, please have your child drop it off at the office and we will pass it along to the Ecosquad!
Relaxed Entry from 7:55 - 8:02am
This is just a reminder that our doors open for students at 7:55am each day for relaxed entry.  No need to arrive early as doors will be locked until 7:55am.  We have supervisors outside each morning and we do not enter the building until all students are inside.  We do a thorough sweep of the school grounds to ensure no one is left outside.  Please feel free to drop and go and we will make sure your child gets inside each morning.
Don't forget your winter gear!!!
Winter has arrived!!!  Please ensure your child is coming with snow pants, toque, mittens and a warm jacket.  We go outside each day even in cold weather.  The only time we limit our time outside is if the temperature drops below -20 degrees celsius.
Chess Club at Glenbow
Does your child want to learn how to play chess? Do they want to develop or improve your skills in chess? Starting November 9th, every Wednesday during lunchtime the students are invited to participate in the Chess Club. The club will be run by coaches from Boys and Girls club.
Students will participate in the club during their recess time and return to their class to eat. All ages/grades and all skill levels are welcome!
Grade 4 Leadership Clubs
Our grade 4 leadership clubs are getting ready for start up!  We have a variety of opportunities for students to get involved this year.  These include art club, chess club, early act club, basketball club, soccer club, acro club and the ecosquad.  Remind your child to listen to the announcements for more information if they are interested in joining a club.  A huge thank you to our grade 4 leadership students and our teacher sponsors for offering to run these extracurricular activities for our students.
Our next School Council meeting is on November 23rd.
We have had to reschedule our next School Council meeting.  It will now be held on Wednesday, November 23rd at 6:30pm in the Learning Commons.  All parents are welcome to join.
Our Friends of Glenbow Society will also host their meeting right after our School Council meeting.
Feed the Teachers!!!  Staff Appreciation Dinner Volunteers
Would you be interested in volunteering to help feed the teachers during their upcoming Student Led Conference nights on November 16 and 17?  If so, please send an email to our School Council at glenbow-schoolcouncil@rvschools.ab.ca and they will share more information.

Are you interested in being a volunteer reader?
We are looking for reading volunteers at Glenbow School! If you or a family member are interested in helping children to develop a love of reading, please reach out to our Assistant Principal, Mme Sarah, at scaldwell@rockyview.ab.ca. Volunteering to read with students is a great way to connect with our community and get to know our school outside of your child’s classroom.
We are a Nut Aware and Scent Free school.  This means we want to ensure that all lunch and snacks do not contain nuts.  We have a number of students with life threatening allergies.  This includes things like Nutella and Peanut Butter.  We also have students and staff with severe allergies to scents.  Please do not wear any perfumes or colognes if you are volunteering in the school.  Thanks for your understanding.
Please Drive Slowly in the School Zone!
As we get back to school, please ensure you are driving slowly through the school zone around Glenbow.  We want to ensure all students get to and from school safely each day!
No Parking or Walking in the Staff Parking Lot
This is a reminder that there is no parking in the staff parking lot before/after school.
We also ask that you do not walk through the parking lot at anytime.  It is a busy spot and we do not want anyone getting hurt.
Thanks for you cooperation.
