School Council and Friends of Glenbow Society Meetings on Wednesday!
We are excited to be hosting our first School Council and Friends of Glenbow Society Meeting on Wednesday at 6:30pm in our Learning Commons. All parents are welcome to join. Our School Council helps organize fun activities throughout the year for students and provide input to Administration on questions that come up in the community. They are an important decision making group that works closely with Administration. Our Friends of Glenbow Society is a fundraising society that runs events throughout the year to help support our school with costs related to field trips, events/activities and purchasing things like technology.
Please join us for our first meeting and consider volunteering some time each month to support the initiatives at Glenbow!
Relaxed Entry - Drop and Go!
Thanks to everyone for adjusting to our new relaxed entry routine. This transition time is important for students as it gives them a little time to settle in and for our teachers to check in and see how they are doing. Parents, please drop off your student at the door and send them off. Please don't come in the school as it can disrupt the intent of the relaxed entry. Although some students are still a little sad when you say goodbye, they are usually very quick to adjust when they head into class. Thanks for your understanding.
Do you still have a milk card???
Milk sales will begin next week. If you have a milk card from last year, please be sure to bring it in and use it if you have some punches left. If you would like to purchase milk, it will be posted on SchoolCash Net early next week. We have chocolate and white milk available daily for students to purchase.
Fun Lunch Begins September 19
Our Fun Lunch program will begin on September 19. All orders are done via SchoolCash Net. Please look out for the Fun Lunch Letter with more information on when and how to order.
We are a Nut Aware and Scent Free school. This means we want to ensure that all lunch and snacks do not contain nuts. We have a number of students with life threatening allergies. This includes things like Nutella and Peanut Butter. We also have students and staff with severe allergies to scents. Please do not wear any perfumes or colognes if you are volunteering in the school. Thanks for your understanding.
Please Drive Slowly in the School Zone!
As we get back to school, please ensure you are driving slowly through the school zone around Glenbow. We want to ensure all students get to and from school safely each day!
No Parking or Walking in the Staff Parking Lot
This is a reminder that there is no parking in the staff parking lot before/after school.
We also ask that you do not walk through the parking lot at anytime. It is a busy spot and we do not want anyone getting hurt.

Are you interested in volunteering this year?
Are you interested in volunteering at Glenbow this year? If so, now would be a great time to get your Criminal Record Check done. You can pop by the Glenbow office to pick up a form during the Open House or you can email us at glenbow@rockyview.ab.ca and we will send one along. You will need to drop it off at the Cochrane RCMP office to get it processed. This will save a lot of time and you will be able to volunteer much sooner with it already in place.
