Fun Lunch on Monday is Jugo Juice

It was great seeing so many of you during our Celebration of Learning.  We are proud of the hard work our students have done this year and it was wonderful getting to share that with you!
Spring Equinox
March 19 marks the first day of spring and the spring equinox, which for many Indigenous peoples is a time to acknowledge and celebrate renewal, growth and connection to the natural world. Educators often use the spring equinox as a teaching moment to explore diverse perspectives on the environment, sustainability and our relationship with the Earth. It is a chance to engage students in hands-on activities, storytelling and discussions that foster appreciation for the interconnectedness of all living things and the importance of stewardship. By embracing Indigenous wisdom and teachings during this time, educators can inspire reverence for the natural world and encourage a commitment to a sustainable environment.
Spring has sprung!!!  Pack some extra clothes!!
If you have been by the school recently, you can see the melt is on!  It would be a good idea to pack some pants and socks in your child's backpack should they end up getting a little too muddy from recess!  We do have a few extra pairs, but not many.
Sibling Photos on Spring Photo Day
In the fall, we had some parents ask about doing sibling photos on photo day.  This can be a little challenging but we will give it a shot during our spring photos!  There are limited spots so this will be on a first come, first served basis.  We will have 2 times slots to accommodate morning/afternoon kindergarten.  Please email glenbow@rockyview.ab.ca if you would like to sign up your children.  If you have any questions please contact the office.
Pathways and Sidewalks are Slippery!
As we are now in the thick of winter, please be very careful walking around the school area.  Sidewalks and pathways are very slippery.  This is very noticeable after snowfall as it hides the ice very well!  Please use caution walking around our school during the winter.
We know our afternoon kindergarten students enjoy sliding on the slope in front of the school before they head to class.  Again, please use caution there as this is a very slippery area due to the drainage challenge in that area.
Glenbow School Playground Fundraising
Glenbow School Council and Friends of Glenbow Education Society are in the process of raising the funds to build a new, fully inclusive and accessible, state of the art playground and outdoor classroom/learning space at Glenbow School.

Our goal is to raise $500,000 through fundraising, grants and donations by 2025. We are asking for the help of parents of Glenbow to spread the word and help us make this playground a success. If you work for a company or know of a company who would be interested in donating please send me an email at glenbow-schoolcouncil@rvschools.ab.ca.  Glenbow School is an amazing community and we are grateful for all your support.

We are a Nut Aware and Scent Free school.  This means we want to ensure that all lunch and snacks do not contain nuts.  We have a number of students with life threatening allergies.  This includes things like Nutella and Peanut Butter.  We also have students and staff with severe allergies to scents.  Please do not wear any perfumes or colognes if you are volunteering in the school.  Thanks for your understanding.
Please Drive Slowly in the School Zone!
As we get back to school, please ensure you are driving slowly through the school zone around Glenbow.  We want to ensure all students get to and from school safely each day!
No Parking or Walking in the Staff Parking Lot
This is a reminder that there is no parking in the staff parking lot before/after school.
We also ask that you do not walk through the parking lot at anytime.  It is a busy spot and we do not want anyone getting hurt.
Thanks for you cooperation.
