Literacy and Numeracy Games/Activities Night - November 23
We are excited to share that we will be hosting a Literacy and Numeracy Games/Activities Night on Thursday, November 23rd. It will run from 5:00 - 6:45pm. We will have a pizza dinner that runs from 5:00 - 5:30 and then you can visit classrooms to play some literacy and numeracy games with your child(ren).

Some help from those who bring dogs for the drop off/pick up
It has been wonderful seeing so many furry friends around at the end of the day when picking up students. We do have a request for our families who bring their dogs to school. If you could please wait with your dog on the field, that would be appreciated. The pavement area and the playground are very busy at dismissal with many students rushing out. We have some students who are scared of dogs and sometimes, students even rush up to the dogs to pet them without asking. We are worried that someone may startle a dog and we don't want a student to get injured. We see many friendly dogs but we just want to prevent an accidental incident.

ACFA Survey and Bilingual Event
The French Canadian association of Calgary “ACFA Régionale de Calgary” is conducting a survey in the region of Cochrane. This survey will enable the provincial and regional francophone organizations to better understand the situation and needs for French services and activities in Cochrane. A special bilingual event with family activities and a community forum will be held on Saturday, December 2nd at "École notre Dame des Vallées" in Cochrane.
This survey allows “ACFA Calgary” to obtain some initial information in order to prepare for the forum. French immersion educators and families are invited to come and participate at this one-of-a-kind event in Cochrane on December 2nd. More information about this event will be released later in the coming weeks.
Once again, Glenbow will be supporting The Cochrane Activettes Food Bank with a school wide game of Holiday Bingo. Cochrane Activettes helps families in need over the holidays and throughout the year. Each homeroom class will receive a bingo card with food items listed. When students bring in an item, they will dab their bingo card, bring the item to the tree and hang a paper ornament. We look forward to all the fun in each homeroom. Holiday Bingo will run from December 4th to December 15th at noon.
Glenbow School Playground Fundraising
Glenbow School Council and Friends of Glenbow Education Society are in the process of raising the funds to build a new, fully inclusive and accessible, state of the art playground and outdoor classroom/learning space at Glenbow School.
Our goal is to raise $500,000 through fundraising, grants and donations by 2025. We are asking for the help of parents of Glenbow to spread the word and help us make this playground a success. If you work for a company or know of a company who would be interested in donating please send me an email at glenbow-schoolcouncil@rvschools.ab.ca. Glenbow School is an amazing community and we are grateful for all your support.

We are a Nut Aware and Scent Free school. This means we want to ensure that all lunch and snacks do not contain nuts. We have a number of students with life threatening allergies. This includes things like Nutella and Peanut Butter. We also have students and staff with severe allergies to scents. Please do not wear any perfumes or colognes if you are volunteering in the school. Thanks for your understanding.
Please Drive Slowly in the School Zone!
As we get back to school, please ensure you are driving slowly through the school zone around Glenbow. We want to ensure all students get to and from school safely each day!
No Parking or Walking in the Staff Parking Lot
This is a reminder that there is no parking in the staff parking lot before/after school.
We also ask that you do not walk through the parking lot at anytime. It is a busy spot and we do not want anyone getting hurt.
