*Raz Kids Online Reading (Eng./Fr. K – Gr. 4+)

Raz-Kids is a leveled online reading practice program. To log in students must click on the “Kids Login” green button. Enter the teacher’s name, then click on their name to login. The student password has been set by the classroom teacher.

A Kindergarten to grade four comprehensive leveled reading resource for French Immersion. 206 precisely LEVELLED Readers that promote student metacognition with JE PEUX statements in line with the CEFR reading strategies success criteria.

*Lalilo (French K - Gr. 2)

Lalilo is an online tool for elementary students. Lalilo supports literacy learning and instruction through interactive and developmentally appropriate exercises for students.


StoryLine Online (English K – Gr. 4+)

Storyline Online a website dedicated to reading aloud to children and is available for free to children, parents, caregivers, and educators worldwide. Each book includes supplemental curriculum developed by a credentialed elementary educator, aiming to strengthen comprehension and verbal and written skills for English-language learners.


ABCya! (English K – Gr. 4+)

ABCya provides over 300 fun and educational games for grades PreK through 6. Topics include math, reading, typing, just-for-fun logic games and more.


Apprendre A LIRE (French K – Gr. 4+)

This site, dedicated to learning to read, offers free fun exercises. This includes online games to help children learn sounds while having fun and printable exercises help you learn to write.

Learning is progressive on this site with a focus on the study of each letter, syllables then words and finally sentences. This method makes it easy to learn to read French.


National Geographic Kids (English K – Gr. 6)

This site lets you search National Geographic Kids magazines, hundreds of National Geographic Books, maps, as well as downloadable images and videos. Articles can be read to the viewer using the listen feature at the top of the website.


PebbleGo (English K - Gr. 4)

This site has articles relating to multiple topics in Social Studies, Science and Animals. The site has a read-aloud option for all articles and includes videos, pictures, and printable activities for each topic.

The site is divided into three categories:

  • Social Studies: Use this fun and interactive database to access information about the world around you, families, community jobs, being a good citizen, world holidays, then and now, and the environment.
  • Science: Use this database to learn more about plants, animals, sound, simple machines, light, earth science, seasons, weather, and humans.

  • Animals: Use this database to learn more about a large variety of living animals, including their behaviour, classification, and habitats. A section on prehistoric dinosaurs is also included.


StarFall (English K - Gr. 2+)

Starfall’s online games focus on phonemic awareness, systematic sequential phonics, and common sight words in conjunction with audiovisual interactivity which has proven effective as part of teaching emergent readers.
